I'm a proud Burmese-Australian queer artist originally from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria (Boonwurrung country).

I'm Shân Primrose.
I make big, weird, colourful art and
help others unleash their creativity.

I began creating art seriously in 2012. At the time I was 16 years old and was extremely confused about my identity. I looked different to most other young people on on the regional coast of Australia.

Fortunately I had an incredible art teacher called Jenny Mann who saw my potential in my art. She introduced me to Frida Kahlo, who was the first woman of colour artist that I knew of.

It was at this point I decided I wanted to pursue art as a career. I sold my first commission that year, and the next year painted my first large scale mural at age 17  (pictured)
